Mons counts numerous listed sites: THE BELFRY, the TOWN HALL OF MONS, the TREASURY OF THE ST-WAUDRU'S COLLEGIATE CHURCH… A few kilometres outside the city centre, you should definitely go visit the superb restored industrial complex of the GRAND-HORNU. It houses the MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART OF THE FRENCH COMMUNITY - MAC's that organises remarkable temporary exhibitions, shrewdly put together by its famous director, Laurent Busine.
Every month of June, Mons and its Grand'Place are the main stage of a remarkable folkloric event that is listed as UNESCO intangible heritage: the DOUDOU, PROCESSION OF THE GOLDEN CARRIAGE AND BATTLE OF THE LUMECON - ST. WAUDRU PROCESSION. No Montois in his right mind would ever want to miss it.
